GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Quality and Compliance Lead is responsible for the planning, development, and execution of Quality processes, protocols, and programs to ensure that all Luxor Workspaces products achieve an acceptable and consistent level of quality to support Luxor’s business objectives and brand strategies.  This includes Quality Management of Luxor’s supply chain and internal production operations, and ensuring Quality Assurance and Compliance principles are applied to new product development and sourcing processes. Provides ongoing Quality KPI metrics to identify opportunities and trends with suppliers and specific product lines during the manufacturing process.  Implements processes to avoid quality issues before product distribution to consumer/customer. Establishes and monitors Product Compliance related processes and documentation.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND Responsibilities:

Responsible for the company-wide development, implementation, and administration of Quality Assurance / Quality Control programs to ensure acceptable and consistent levels of product quality.

Product Quality:

  • Responsible for Quality Management of suppliers and internal production to include incoming, in-process and final pre-shipment inspections, corrective actions, quality process development and continuous improvement activities as required.
  • In coordination with the New Product Development team, establish product requirements and appropriate testing, evaluation, and inspection protocols for developing new products that are manufactured at an acceptable, consistent quality level.
  • Establishes and implements product Quality Requirements and Inspection Plans.
  • Establishes and maintains quality policies, measurements and monitoring programs, compiles and analyzes data to manage Quality KPI’s and improve product quality.
  • Qualifies new suppliers against defined Supplier Audit standards such as quality, capacity, safety, cost, delivery, technical support, and compliance.
  • Ensure suppliers and internal production remain in compliance with company, customer, government and industry manufacturing standards and requirements.
  • Recommends, implements, and monitors preventative and corrective actions to ensure that quality standards are achieved.
  • Proactively identifies and drives supply chain and internal production quality improvements related to production processes, packaging, shipping, handling, customer assembly etc.
  • Ensures that every aspect of the New Product Development and Sourcing processes is suitably oriented toward, developed and executed around principles of Total Quality.
  • Investigates customer complaints and product issues and recommends corrective actions.
  • Identifies potential quality issues before it gets to customer, manages the quality programs in all Luxor facilities relative to inspection, KPI/AQL inspections, and mitigation.
  • Works cross functionally with Distribution, Transportation, NPD, Engineering, and Sourcing in all facets of quality.

 

 

  • Interprets, implements, and ensures compliance with quality standards, and provides accurate and comprehensive feedback on quality standards to cross-functional teams.
  • Effectively collaborates with Asia Quality resources/staff by establishing appropriate goals & objectives that are aligned to achieve the Luxor Workspaces Quality goals, aids in the training, and development of Asia Quality resources.

 

Product Compliance:

 

  • Manages product compliance with external laws, regulatory, safety, and other external and internal compliance requirements.
  • Product Safety Compliance including all mandatory Federal, State, Local (i.e. CPSC) and voluntary standards and industry standards (i.e. BIFMA, etc.).
  • Product Packaging and/or Shipping compliance – identifying, understanding and implementing appropriate processes for packaging and shipment of Hazmat and other dangerous goods (i.e. batteries).
  • Post use - recycling and eWaste related compliance for all product categories, managing relationship with third party providers, and monitoring and ensuring compliance with state and other government reporting.
  • Managing strategy and ongoing certifications for all product UL/ETL certifications – ongoing management of certifications, inspections, and managing new certification projects.
  • Managing all product testing strategy through execution, maintaining detailed and complete records of all product testing, and collaboration with Marketing and Sales for product claims relating to the physical capabilities of products (weight capacities, electrical capacities, etc.).
  • Managing adherence to all material specifications, such as density, color, strength etc. and  testing for validation and compliance to product claims and specifications.

  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers by providing accurate information, timely and reliable feedback, maintaining a positive attitude and taking a team-oriented approach to all duties and responsibilities.
  • Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.
  • Proactively optimize processes to maximize productivity and efficiency.

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Strong knowledge of data analysis and statistical methods.
  • Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal and listening.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related business/technical field.
  • 5-10 years' experience in Quality Assurance or Quality/Compliance related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of Quality principles, functions, processes, and practices.
  • Quality Assurance experience in industrial or consumer products desired.
  • Hands on experience in manufacturing preferred.
  • Experience in Quality/Compliance Management of international supply chains. 

 

 

 

Computer equipment and level of software requirements:

  • Proficiency in MS Office and project management software required.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management software and applications desired.

 

Specific Knowledge, licenses, certifications REQUIRED:

  • None.

 

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Participates in all mandatory employee training (safety, etc.)

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Able to lift 50 pounds – this role will be responsible for assembling samples, using tools, performing drop tests and weight tests

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Usual office working conditions.
  • Occasional travel to other offices, training and/or a conference required.
