JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Job Title:         Order Entry Clerk

Reports To:     Quality & Order Entry Manager

FLSA Status:   Non-Exempt

GENERAL PURPOSE:

 

Create and process sales orders from customer purchase orders based on the daily priorities established by the Order Entry Lead; ability to troubleshoot and resolve errors related to customer purchase orders; act as a contact when working across departments (Warehouses, Purchasing, Sales, & Accounting) to resolve issues and questions related to sales orders.  Collaborate and communicate effectively with internal and external customers to facilitate timely fulfillment and support company growth.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND Responsibilities:

 

  • Create Sales Orders from Customer Purchase Orders received manually and through EDI transmissions, and distribute to the appropriate warehouse for fulfillment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve sales orders when information is missing or incomplete by working collaboratively with the Order Entry Lead, across other departments, and through communication with customers
  • Assist in identifying the root cause of orders going on hold, based on inbound errors, and work across departments to implement effective countermeasures and resolutions
  • Determine lead times on sales orders based on Luxor’s internal Ship Date Guidelines
  • Select low-cost carrier for applicable LTL shipments using Luxor’s internal carrier selection tool

 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Assist other team members where possible
  • Drive continuous improvement by collecting data and identifying process improvements to improve efficiency and productivity in the department and across departments
  • Participate in setting team goals as part of the MBO process
  • Assist and support your manager on projects and tasks as requested

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

 

  • Intermediate typing and general computer skills
  • Ability to adjust to changing business conditions and learn new processes
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve issues with limited information using basic processes and judgement
  • Positive, can-do, solutions-oriented attitude

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

 

  • Work History Requirements:
    • Minimum 1-year order entry and/or customer service-related experience
  • Education Requirements:
    • High School Diploma required

 

 

Computer equipment and level of software requirements:

 

  • Intermediate level of Microsoft Outlook; Beginner level of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Order Entry processing in an ERP system, with Sage preferred
  • Experience working in Amazon Seller/Vendor central; e-commerce portals
  • Experience working with inbound EDI orders processing strongly preferred
