Maintenance Technician - Multi Craft

Under direct supervision, performs all general maintenance, diagnose/repair maintenance issues and complete service requests as directed. Responsible for making day to day adjustments, performing inspections and keeping records of completed work. Years of Experience: 0-3 years

Summary of Job:

Responsible for ensuring that plant equipment is kept in good electrical/mechanical repair and working order, enabling a continuous production mode.


Essential Job Functions:

  1. Install & maintain production equipment with emphasis on equipment uptime and to resolve quality and production related issues in the spirit of continuous improvement, including electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical troubleshooting.
  2. Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment
  3. Read and interpret machine electrical and mechanical drawings.
  4. Troubleshoot programmable controllers, electronics, circuits, mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  5. Repair and rebuild electrical and mechanical components.
  6. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
  7. Participate in continuous improvement in safety, quality, and housekeeping.
  8. Reporting to work regularly and on time.
  9. Other tasks as determined by Maintenance Supervisor



Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma and 2+ years experience in repairing and troubleshooting in pneumatics, hydraulics, forklifts, 3 phase motors, and industrial wiring in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot PLC equipment
  • 1 year industrial electrical experience required.
  • Ability to learn process, equipment specifications and company standards by actively consulting resources, associates, manuals, and policies
  • Good practical sense working with and troubleshooting equipment problems.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly.


Other Skills

  • Ability to operate or learn to operate various machines, such as: Plant equipment & machinery, scales, tape measure, control gauges, computer keyboard.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment.
  • Perform variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.


Working Conditions

  • Inside, non-climate controlled environment, variable work days and hours.  Some noise and vibration.  Overtime will be required.


Physical Demands

  • Lift up to 75 lbs. occasionally.
  • Prolonged standing
  • Climb and balance.
  • Kneeling, crouching, stooping
