 General Responsibilities:

  • Work with various insurance industry personnel to revise coverage, renew and create insurance policies and proposal packages – handles presentation of same
  • In coordination with Producers, coordinate logistics of the overall Account Management process
  • Issue and process various insurance documents, such as Certificates of Insurance, invoicing, renewals, etc.
  • Review of customer contracts to assure compatibility of coverages with contract requirements
  • Review policies for accuracy and follow-up of needed corrections.
  • Provide high level assistance to clients and customers to satisfactorily resolve business account issues.
  • Provide hands on support to existing accounts and clients. (e.g., answering questions, furnishing supporting documentation, interpreting and communicating policy coverage, etc.).
  • May perform cross-functional tasks and serve as back-up to other members of staff members or management team
  • Promote account “rounding” identifying potential exposures of existing clients.  Identifying & recommending suitable coverage to address such exposures
  • Input information and track activities in account management system software program
  • Assist in designing workflows for the area, assists with and help design training and development for the commercial lines staff


Required Qualifications:

  • High school degree and minimum 10 year’s account management/customer service experience in the Commercial Lines - Property and Casualty insurance industry
  • Current Property and Casualty license in the state of Alabama
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Experience/skills with varied commercial software programs including Microsoft Office
  • Fundamental mathematical skills and the ability to perform basic calculations for policy needs
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects/customers and assignments as evidenced by a quantifiable track record in prior positions
  • CISR Designation


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or other educational degree(s)
  • CIC, CRM, CPCU or other professional designations
  • Experience using varied agency management systems, including, but not limited to: Vertafore Agency Platform/AMS360/Work Smart/Image Right and others
  • Prior experience in presentations and preparation of similar for both internal and external audiences
  • Prior managerial/supervisory experience (both people and tasks)
