EBSCO Industries is seeking a Payroll Specialist to work a hybrid work schedule with our team located in Birmingham, Alabama. This role will process multiple payrolls, processing multi-state tax returns as well as Canadian Payroll and tax reporting.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Review time and payroll data, with detection and reconciliation of payroll discrepancies
• Dynamic reporting that includes summaries of earnings, tax deductions, leave, and non-taxable wages
• Calculate payroll liabilities by determining employee taxes, including federal and state income and social security tax, and employer payments for social security, unemployment and worker’s compensation
• Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer employee payroll queries
• Maintain all payroll operations according to company policies and procedures
• Process multi state tax returns
• Special project opportunities
• Works closely with Business Unit HR Leaders and Payroll Departments
• Canadian payroll processing and tax reporting
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s Degree Required
• 3+ years’ experience in payroll is required
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) is required
• Payroll Supervisory Skills (Preferred)
• Success Factors experience (Preferred)
• Canadian payroll and tax experience (Preferred)
