EBSCO Income Properties LLC (EIP), a real estate division of EBSCO’s Industries, Inc., is a multifamily investment company with 20 properties currently in its portfolio.


The EIP team is seeking an experienced Accountant. Position will be the liaison with the asset management company, the management team and corporate accounting.   Must have the ability to work independently, and with a team, in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness. This position will be based at EBSCO’s Mt Laurel campus in Birmingham, Alabama with the ability to work remote.


Job Responsibilities

  • Performing monthly closing, journal entries and reconciliations
  • Reconcile general ledger account activity
  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly reports
  • Work closely with managers to prepare budgets and assist in monthly variance analysis
  • Assist in any special projects, analysis, and general accounting task as needed
  • Provide recommendations for improvements and efficiencies in all aspects of accounting


Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years accounting experience required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel proficiency
  • Experience in analyzing data and communicating results in an organized fashion


Preferred Skills

  • Master’s in accounting a plus
  • Multifamily or Construction accounting experience a plus

  • Thorough understanding of general ledger accounting systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts, and corporate accounting processes

  • Attention to detail, highly organized, and efficient
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to perform both high level and detailed root cause analysis
