Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated VoIP Engineer to join our Corporate IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and management of VoIP systems and services. This role requires a strong understanding of voice over IP technologies, networking principles, and telecommunications systems. The VoIP Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless communication solutions for our organization.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Design and Implementation:
    • Design, configure, and implement VoIP systems and solutions to meet business needs.
    • Conduct feasibility studies and prepare project documentation for VoIP projects.
  • System Management:
    • Monitor and maintain VoIP systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to VoIP calls, connectivity, and network performance.
  • Network Integration:
    • Collaborate with network engineers to integrate VoIP solutions into existing infrastructure.
    • Ensure proper network configurations, QoS (Quality of Service) settings, and bandwidth management.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Create and maintain documentation for VoIP system configurations, policies, and procedures.
    • Prepare regular reports on system performance and incident resolution.
  • Support and Training:
    • Provide technical support and training to end-users and staff regarding VoIP services and systems.
    • Assist in developing training materials and user guides for VoIP technologies.
  • Vendor Management:
    • Evaluate and select VoIP hardware and software vendors.
    • Collaborate with vendors to resolve issues and improve service delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of VoIP protocols (SIP, H.323, RTP) and technologies.
  • Proficiency in network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, DHCP) and routing/switching concepts.
  • 3+ years experience with VoIP hardware (IP phones, gateways, PBXs) and software applications.
  • Familiarity with security principles and practices related to VoIP systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud-based VoIP solutions (e.g., Microsoft Teams Voice, RingCentral).
  • Experience with Contact Center Solutions (e.g, Genesys, NICE, Audio Codes)
  • Knowledge of unified communications and collaboration tools.
  • 4 years of experience in VoIP or cloud voice platforms preferred.
