The Communications Manager reports to the VP of Corporate Communications and works collaboratively with the Corporate Communications team to develop effective, integrated, communication, and marketing campaigns. This position plans, develops, manages, and executes internal and external communications for EBSCO Industries, as well as marketing initiatives for its business units.




  • Works with the Corporate Communications team to support EBSCO’s initiatives by developing strategy; ensuring brand consistency; and executing projects
  • Works with the team to develop internal communications campaigns and programs to support employment branding, employee engagement, and the education of new initiatives and programs within EBSCO
  • Works collaboratively with Service Centers to support key initiatives, including event support and project execution
  • Works collaboratively, as needed, with the businesses in the development and execution of plans that support the overall goals of the business
  • Creates consistent themes, messaging, and branding in all communication touch points, including corporate communications and external communications.
  • Develops project plans, including project briefs, for marketing and communication initiatives
  • Writes internal communications for EBSCO Industries and provides writing assistance for other communications and marketing deliverables. (Internal Communication Emails, Intranet and Internet Articles, External News Releases, etc.)
  • Supports change management initiatives for EBSCO and maps out plans to facilitate employee communications to achieve awareness and adoption.
  • Collaborates on the development of the corporate newsletter
  • Runs the development of the Bugle, EBSCO’s internal communications publication
  • Works with VP Marketing Corporate Communications to allocate resources
  • Develops and creates presentations and case studies
  • Presents ideas, creative work, and marketing plans for approval and/or review
  • Responsible for oversight EBSCO’s external website
  • Coordinates production where needed for execution of internal communication projects- photography, video, print, etc.
  • Stay current and up-to-date on technological advances within creative and communication platforms
  • Eagerness to learn new skill sets and keep skills current
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and continuous improvement initiatives related to communications and integrated marketing
  • Seeks to accomplish organizational goals by embracing new and different requests and projects; exploring continuous improvement opportunities to add value to the job/role




  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, advertising, public relations, or related field
  • 4 – 7 years of experience in a corporate communications role, marketing, advertising or public relations agency or equivalent experience in an in-house marketing team




  • Experience managing large-scale projects and/or programs
  • Experience working with and presenting to Executive level employees
  • Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Experience in content strategy for print, web, digital, and social media marketing
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven writing skill set
