Job Summary
EBSCO Industries is looking to add a talented attorney to its in-house legal team. Our legal team supports a diverse portfolio of companies, working closely with business partners across a wide range of matters. Job Responsibilities
You will provide strategic legal advice and support to EBSCO and its portfolio companies, primarily focused on commercial transactions. This role involves reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts, advising on legal and regulatory matters, and ensuring business operations comply with applicable laws and company policies. You will report directly to the Deputy General Counsel.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide practical, solution-oriented legal advice and counsel to internal business partners
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements
- Identify and mitigate legal risks while supporting business goals and operational efficiency
- Interpret laws, regulations, and company policies, and assist in their implementation across departments
- Conduct legal research and analysis on specialized topics or projects as assigned
- Provide clear and actionable recommendations to internal stakeholders
- Educate business teams on relevant legal issues
- Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, CLEs, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest developments in applicable law
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree
- Minimum of 3 years as a practicing attorney
- Admitted to practice law in at least one state and in good standing of applicable bar association
- Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal and client service skills
- Strong organizational skills and comfort managing multiple contracts and client relationships simultaneously
- Strategic thinker who exercises good judgment and discretion
Essential Job Function
Ability to sit for extended periods at a desk while working on a computer, reviewing financial documents, and analyzing data using software applications and spreadsheets.
Capable of viewing and interpreting information on computer screens for prolonged periods, including detailed financial reports, spreadsheets, and data visualizations.
Ability to communicate effectively in person during meetings, presentations, and collaborations with team members and stakeholders throughout the office environment
