Job Description 

The Texas Hunter Senior Accountant is responsible for the company’s financial operations, accounting, and cost controls.  This critical role serves as a business partner with the General Manager to effectively manage and control local facility costs and activities. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for all aspects of accounting, including accounts receivable, inventory and costing, payables, and financial reporting. 

 

Job Responsibilities 

  • As a member of the Texas Hunter Leadership team, coordinate, analyze and report the financial performance of THP to PRADCO Financial management providing actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations to improve profitability and growth. 

  • Provide leadership in managing the financial needs of the Business Unit including cost control, process efficiency, accounting/financial activities, risk management, and planning. 

  • Develop rapport with the THP General Manager and the PRADCO Leadership team and understand how to work efficiently and effectively to deliver results and support overall PRADCO strategies. 

 

Specific Duties 

  • Produce monthly financial reporting packages for management, including KPI tracking, performance vs. plan and prior year, analysis of key variances and suggested actions, and balance sheet analysis. 

  • Ensure the accuracy of the physical inventory and reported results.  Investigate and explain book to physical adjustments. 

  • Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with accounting, regulatory, and internal audit requirements. 

  • Coordinate activities with internal and external audit firms as required. 

  • Implement and maintain accounting and administrative policies and procedures for the Business Unit. 

  • Ensure timely and accurate input of bill of material changes and ensure costing accurately reflects production operations. 

  • Oversees the auditing of bills of materials to ensure product costs are accurate and accounted for properly. 

  • Participate actively in operations meetings to be informed on activities and impending issues. 

  • Review labor reporting and cost, material costs, manufacturing overhead, distribution cost, returns and inventory levels. 

  • Analyze internal controls to ensure assets are adequately safeguarded and results are accurately reporting. 

  • Perform all monthly closing activities and account reconciliations. 

  • Proficiency in all aspects of GAAP and corporate accounting.  

  • Carry out other duties, responsibilities, and projects as may be assigned, in an effective manner. 

 

Job Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. 

  • Five (5) years’ experience financial management in a consumer goods and/or a manufacturing company. 

  • Experience in making decision that positively impact financials and able to communicate and train others on key business drivers. 

  • Experience with ERP and accounting systems, preferably Infor Lawson/M3. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (intermediate/advanced level in Excel, including proficiency with lookups and pivot tables). 

  • Strong effective communicator in writing, business presentations and in interpersonal communication. 

  • Excellent problem solving, decision making and critical thinking skills.  

  • Demonstrate time management and leadership skills. 

  • Ability to multi-task, set priorities, and meet strict deadlines. Must have an abiding sense of urgency, pace and decisiveness.
