Job Summary

Works with the DC Leadership team to plan and supervise all distribution related functions as well as light assembly functions that may include multiple facilities.  Using a lean philosophy as the guiding principles, oversees the delivery of finished goods to customers and consumers taking into consideration speed to shelf, quality, and value with a brand centric focus.  Supervises, and develops a team of co-workers engaged in providing distribution and light assembly to customers and consumers.  The Distribution Supervisor works with other functional leaders to insure product is at the right place at the right time with a focus on speed to shelf, quality, and value.  Leads and coaches others in maintaining excellence, quality control, teamwork and safety.

The Supervisor must be a leader, strategic thinker and problem solver.  He/she must combine technical knowledge with an understanding of tactical capacity to meet customer expectations.  He/she should be well organized, disciplined and self-motivated, with the capability to balance multiple priorities related to operations and organization.  He/she must be able to communicate with internal company personnel, as well as customers, with equal effectiveness and professionalism.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervises the ongoing effectiveness and efficiencies of the order cycle operations and GTM activities.  Makes changes, with approval, to deliver scale and sustainable service to customers and consumers.
  • Delivers a best in class customer and consumer experience by executing a systemic, scalable and sustainable process that delivers speed to shelf, quality, and value.
  • Executes and supervises a lean philosophy throughout the organization.
  • Supports a brand centric focus within the order cycle operations organization and helps to support this focus throughout the organization.
  • Supervises the creation and execution of operational policies, procedures and metrics, including compliance with security and safety programs to ensure the highest standards are maintained.
  • Monitors compliance of departmental budgets.
  • Ensures appropriate staffing levels to ensure that workload is completed on time.
  • Supervises the effectiveness of systems, policies and procedures and makes appropriate suggestions to ensure daily operations are efficient.
  • Participates in the coaching and training of the operational organization.
  • Has direct input on the performance evaluations, salary adjustments and disciplinary action as necessary.
  • Helps to execute the assimilation plans when acquisitions occur.
  • Supports efforts to deliver a culture where people work together as knowledgeable, productive and motivated team members to make a difference.
  • Constantly seeks, tests, and implements improvements to methods, practices, procedures and systems to bring about greater efficiency and productivity.

  • Carry out other duties, responsibilities, and projects as may be assigned, in an effective manner.

     

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • A minimum of 4 years in progressively responsible leadership positions of Distribution, Inventory Mgt., Transportation, or light assembly.

Preferred Skills

  • A background in the consumer-packaged goods/sporting goods industries.
