Vice President of Sales- Hunting


Job Summary

This key sales leadership position is responsible for the profitable attainment of all sales and market share objectives for all global customers across the Moultrie Mobile, Moultrie, Summit Treestands, and Code Blue brands. This role is a member of the POB Hunting Management Team.  It heads the planning, development and implementation of strategic initiatives/programs to maximize revenue and profitability through the sales channels and also oversees all aspects of sales and customer marketing. 

This key role is charged with building business across the distribution channels, including large retailers (Bass Pro Shops, Academy Sports + Outdoors, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Walmart), eCommerce, specialty independent stores, distributors and a growing international distribution network. The successful candidate will have a quantitative and fact-based orientation, be able to analyze sales and trend data, and have a keen sense of emerging market opportunities. Will build and maintain strong relationships with all customers at a senior level to understand the customer’s key objectives and strategies and implementing collaborative business plans that deliver long-term mutual growth. 

This role collaborates with the Product Development and Marketing functions to deliver compelling products to the market. The Vice President, Sales will also be responsible for the recruitment, development and assessment of sales talent to support the Company’s ongoing growth in North America and the expansion into international markets.  The position is located at PRADCO headquarters in Birmingham, AL.  


Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the Sales Team budget and oversee the development and management of the internal operating budgets. Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of the entire sales program with regards to costs and results and make changes as required.
  • Develop a strong and collaborative relationships with the POB Hunting marketing teams.   Work closely to balance product offerings and set strategy for managing an appropriate channel mix of products.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with each key account.  Determine how to best respond to their needs and changing requirements as well as refining the customers’ perception of POB goods and services. Long-term strategies need to be outlined for each customer and potential customer.
  • Embed customer profitability analysis disciplines throughout the retail sales function.
  • Collaborate and support the Strategic and Annual Plans in a team-driven environment with high levels of interaction with multiple internal and external resources.
  • Design and implement continuous improvement of various monitoring, measurement and reporting metric systems.
  • Manage employees with effective communication, coaching and organizational development practices to sustain good morale, effectiveness and performance of the work group.
  • Carry out other duties, responsibilities, and projects as may be assigned, in an effective manner.


Job Requirements


  • B.S. or B.A. from an accredited college/university in Marketing, Business, or related field.
  • Ten (10) years successful consumer goods sales management.  Five or more years at the senior level


Preferred Skills


  • Experience in different sales channels is heavily preferred (Mass, Specialty, Outdoor, Internet)
  • Strong functional depth in general sales planning, performance management, channel conflict management and sales forecasting
  • History and track record of executional excellence; Ideally in multi-brand organizations
  • MBA preferred
  • A background in the hunting, fishing, or outdoor sporting goods market.
