Machine Learning Data Scientist and Engineer


Moultrie Mobile, the fastest growing product segment within PRADCO Outdoor Brands, is looking for a Machine Learning Data Scientist/Engineer! With state-of-the-art technologies and partnerships with Verizon and AT&T, Moultrie Mobile has been a game-changer in the outdoor market. Supporting this revolutionary product is a skilled team of software engineers. This team works within an agile process to develop cutting edge web and mobile solutions. The Machine Learning Data Scientist/Engineer is a critical hire focused delivering new ML and AI capabilities to our products and enhancing the end-user experience for the Moultrie Mobile consumers.


On a day-to-day basis you will be developing the algorithms, applications, and platforms that will deliver positive change to our customers. You will apply experience and knowledge in preparing data, training/evaluating models, deploying ML solutions and evaluating performance.


Scope & Responsibilities:


  • Serve as an ML and data subject matter expert (SME)
  • Analyze, understand, and prepare data for our ML pipelines
  • Engineer and code new ML offerings; i.e., training and test sets for new models targeting live client deploy into an Azure cloud environment
  • Take the initiative to use ML to solve non-obvious business problems outside of current assignment
  • Build prototypes to explore applying ML solutions to Moultrie Mobile opportunities
  • Continuously monitor/improve ML solutions
  • Support, train and coordinate with team members on ML solutions
  • Assist in general software development tasks outside of ML
  • Adhere to technology best practices
  • Demonstrate ownership of developed components from development through production


Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of work or educational experience in ML or AI
  • 1 year of work in C#/.NET software development
  • Experience with Python, pySpark
  • General knowledge of ML, ML Tooling (specifically, but not limited to ML.NET, Azure Machine Learning etc.)
  • General knowledge of data wrangling/preparation and data analysis
  • General knowledge of model selection/training
  • General knowledge of scalable systems
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills


Preferred Skills/Experiences:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or related technical field
  • Experience with image classification and object detection
  • In-depth knowledge of ML algorithms: how they work, their proper use cases, their limitations, etc.
  • Ability to code algorithms presented in research papers in order to test out new discoveries
  • Hands-on experience with Azure services
  • Experience in Agile methodology, Enterprise Agile, LESS, DA(D) or SAFe
