Forecasting and Sales Analyst, PRADCO Outdoor Products Division

Job Summary

The Sales and Forecast Analyst is responsible for supporting the PRADCO Outdoor Product Division by building the annual sales plan supported by predictive models and other forecasting techniques, and all sales reporting and analysis that build a persuasive narrative around data. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in delivering insight with strong grounding in analytical research. The position requires a unique combination of strategic and tactical skills that will enable the successful candidate to significantly impact the company’s transformation and sustained profitable growth.

Job Responsibilities

  • The Analyst will be responsible for interacting cross functionally with Operations, Product/Brand, Marketing, Sales, and Finance to coordinate and oversee the collaborative development of product forecasts for a rolling 12-month period and sales analysis. This position is responsible for driving continuous improvement in sales analysis, forecast accuracy and forecasting processes to positively impact inventory positions, sales and margin. 
  • Partner with the division team to generate forecasts through predictive analytics and develop a sustainable and scalable strategic framework. Act as a key member in the development of new analytics procedures and strategies.
  • Effectively communicate and translate results to Leadership Team. Enable division management to make informed, data-based decisions by providing business analyses and analytical support, particularly in areas where data is difficult to access / unreliable and where a high level of analytical skill is required.
  • Gather, analyze, and present customer data to assist the team with decision-making, clarity, and transparency.
  • Analyze and communicate customer trends and partner with the sales team to stay up to date with future promotions.  Work with sales and finance on the financial impact on these promotions.
  • Guide research to help develop product business models, ideas, leverage new data sources, expand analytical techniques and support infrastructure. Evaluate forecast models and explore new methodologies. Lead the analysis and understanding of customers using advanced analytics and data driven processes.
  • Carry out other duties, responsibilities, and projects as assigned, in an effective manner.

Job Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in business, marketing, economics, or statistics (or related field)-or- equivalent work experience
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in sales and/or marketing analysis or general business analytics.
  • Proven understanding of forecast methodologies.
  • Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and presentations.
  • Knowledge of best practices in data visualization.

Preferred Skills

 

  • Experience with demand planning software.
  • Experience with Tableau preferred.
  • Experience in customer analytics software (SPS Commerce, Retail Link, Vendor Central, Domo, Vendor Information Systems, etc.).
  • Retail merchandising experience a plus.
