Job Summary

The Product Engineer will drive the design and development of innovative, high-quality, and market-ready products for the brand lines within PRADCO Outdoor Products Division (OPD). This role is responsible for designing products that meet consumer needs, are cost-effective, and can be efficiently manufactured. Success requires close collaboration with Management, Operations, Marketing, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Customer Service, Legal, and Sales to deliver solutions that support the strategic goals of OPD.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Engineer products that advance the market segment, strengthen brand equity, and capture consumer interest.
  • Enhance existing technologies and products to meet performance, marketing, and sales expectations while achieving financial targets.
  • Partner with Marketing and Sales to align product development with the product manager’s launch timelines and market strategies.
  • Design and execute modifications to existing products and lead new product development initiatives.
  • Create, update, and communicate product specification documents; submit engineering changes promptly to manufacturing.
  • Define factory specifications and key measures; collaborate with manufacturing to ensure product quality and durability.
  • Maintain engineering procedures throughout the product lifecycle to achieve cost, reliability, and production objectives.
  • Follow the new product development process to ensure only approved, requirement-driven products move forward.
  • Physically test and evaluate prototypes and finished products in real-world conditions to validate safety, durability, and performance.
  • Develop and implement test protocols simulating real-world use to validate product function and durability.
  • Research and apply industry standards to product design, instructions, and compliance.
  • Support product launch activities in manufacturing and assembly facilities.
  • Perform additional duties and projects assigned with efficiency and professionalism.

 

 

Job Requirements

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college/university.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role.

Preferred Skills

  • Background in hunting or outdoor sporting goods.
  • Familiarity with PRADCO Outdoor Brands products and regular use of outdoor gear.
  • Expertise in root-cause analysis and development of corrective measures.
  • Strong analytical and product development capabilities.
  • Experience with SolidWorks and other design software (Creo, Autodesk).
