The Electronic Test Specialist will develop and execute test plans.  Modify test jigs and fixtures, execute test plans, repair, and improve existing electronic product offerings, test equipment, and controls and will assist in developing new or updated electronic systems, components, test plans or products.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Plans, lays out, assembles, modifies, validates and maintains test equipment and related structural assemblies by reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings and sketches.
  • Assists engineers in operating test equipment to obtain performance data on parts and assemblies under varying operating conditions.
  • Collect, complies and summarizes test.
  • Repairs, tests, and inspects electronics or electronic systems as directed through verbal or written directions, diagrams, drawings, or specifications. 
  • Maintains and makes necessary operating adjustments to the organization’s electronic test systems. 
  • Determines material or replacement needs and a logical method for repair; takes appropriate action to meet those needs and makes repairs.
  • Creates or adapts parts as needed to make repairs and improve the performance of various electronics and test systems.
  • Performs testing to ensure design plans are feasible and meet requirements in various conditions. 
  • Reports issues found in the bug reporting system and takes steps to resolve the issue.
  • Instructs employees regarding testing procedures and requirements when developing electronic hardware products. 
  • Develops and maintains records related to testing and results. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree in Electronics recommended, or equivalent work experience
  • 3 years of related industry experience
  • Ability to solder and modify electronic systems for test including test wires, or harnesses.
  • Thorough understanding of electronics principles and design and test methods.
  • Proficient in Microsoft issue tracking systems or related software. 
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability. 
  • Ability to follow highly complex directions. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Ability to distinguish various colors of wires and distinguish electronic system sections and wiring.
  • Ability to see and solder 0402 components
