Job Summary

PRADCO Outdoor Brands is a leading manufacturer of high-quality outdoor products for hunting and fishing enthusiasts around the world.  Headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, PRADCO’s hunting division goes to market under the following hunting brands: Moultrie, Summit, Knight & Hale, Code Blue, Texas Hunter Products, Whitetail Institute, and Ani-Logics Outdoors. On the fishing side, PRADCO operates more than 15 brands - including Rebel, YUM, Booyah, Bandit, Bobby Garland, War Eagle, Bomber, Heddon, Arbogast, Thill, Lindy, Whisker Seeker Tackle, and Great Lakes Finesse.

 

PRADCO operates with a long-term mindset, and its growth strategy centers around organic product development and innovation opportunities, bolt-on acquisitions for existing business units, and new platform investments in attractive categories across the outdoor products spectrum.

 

This role reports to the President of PRADCO Outdoor Brands.  It is responsible for leading all mergers and acquisitions and business development-related activities for PRADCO, and the successful candidate will have experience in the following areas: financial analysis, modeling, mergers and acquisitions, strategic analysis, business development, competitive analysis, project management, and due diligence.  This individual must possess the skill sets to build and maintain strong relationships with internal PRADCO and EBSCO team members as well as outside partners such as business owners, investment bankers, private equity professionals, and legal advisors. Finally, this individual must possess very strong communication skills and be able to refine large amounts of data into clear and actionable insights.

 

The Director– Corporate Development will be a member of PRADCO’s senior leadership team as well as have regular interaction with our parent company’s CEO, CFO, and Board of Directors.

 

 

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Lead all mergers and acquisitions activities at the PRADCO consolidated level (bolt-on acquisitions, new platform acquisitions, intellectual property acquisitions, royalty agreements, and venture investments)
  • Coordinate with relevant teams under parent company EBSCO Industries’ shared services model (Treasury, Tax, and Legal)
  • Partner with PRADCO business unit general managers to develop acquisition strategy roadmaps by brand and category
  • Work with PRADCO President and senior leadership team to identify and execute on new platform growth opportunities
  • Build out PRADCO’s M&A team as needed

 

Specific Duties:

  • Identification of acquisition targets for all existing PRADCO brands as well as identifying attractive sectors for investment in new platforms
  • Financial modeling, valuation, and deal structuring
  • Negotiate non-disclosure agreements and confidentiality agreements
  • Development of internal deal support documentation (business cases, executive summaries, etc.)
  • Drafting of offer letters (Indications of Interest and Letters of Intent)
  • Due diligence process management and coordinating diligence with internal and outside stakeholders
  • Coordination with EBSCO Legal team on purchase agreement drafting and negotiation
  • Development of post-closing integration plans (in partnership with business unit leadership for bolt-on acquisitions)
  • Post-closing acquisition reporting
  • Maintain deal flow database
  • Execution of ad hoc strategic and financial analysis projects
  • Be guided by EBSCO’s 8 core values and POB’s values and behaviors
  • Carry out other duties, responsibilities, and projects as may be assigned, in an effective manner

 

Performance Measures:

  • Achievement towards objectives as set every six months in collaboration with the President of PRADCO Outdoor Brands
  • Successful record of closed investments leading to expected growth and positive outcomes
  • Internal collaboration and adoption of the EBSCO core values

 

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA, MSF, MAcc) and/or professional certification (CFA, CPA) is a plus.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in financial planning and analysis or M&A, preferably within the consumer products, manufacturing, or outdoor recreation industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting techniques, and scenario analysis.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and financial software systems (e.g., ERP, budgeting tools, BI platforms).
