The Commodity Manager is responsible for managing the supply chain by sourcing and reviewing commodities for the Moultrie Connected Trail Camera product portfolio and associated accessories. This requires managing materials from inception, through production and end of life.  

 

Responsibilities: 

The Commodity Manager will be responsible for: 

  • Recommending components and vendors to the development team 

  • Negotiating material price and availability during the Inception/Design Phase 

  • Working with our manufacturing partners during the Production Phase to ensure material supply, working upside requests and delivery push outs while ensuring minimum excess and obsolesce at the End of the Program 

  • Recommending second source and cost reductions during the life of the product 

  • building and maintaining good relationships with commodity suppliers and distributors 

  • Negotiating favorable prices and terms for key commodities and assign them to our manufacturing partners 

  • maintaining an accurate Costed Bill of Materials for all product SKUs, evaluating, selecting and recommending new vendors to the development team 

  • Understanding market trends and identifying risks when selecting partners and component solutions 

  • Resolving any vendor disputes and any warranty claims 

 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, economics, or a similar field. 

  • Minimum four years' experience in supply chain or commodity management 

  • Knowledge of financial markets and dynamics that influence electronic product prices. 

  • Experience working with consumer commodities (electronics, mechanical components, tooling, etc.) 

  • Solid risk management skills. Identifying risks and establishing mitigation plans. 

  • Good negotiation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with vendors and suppliers. 

  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work well with others from various departments. 

  • Interest and personal experience with outdoor sporting activities a plus.
