Job Summary

The Category Director (Feed & Seed) is a strategic leader responsible for driving the growth, innovation, and market presence of PRADCO Outdoor Products Divison’s Feed & Seed brands—Whitetail Institute and Ani-Logics Outdoors. This role oversees product management, marketing execution, and customer engagement, ensuring alignment with brand strategy and consumer needs. The ideal candidate will be a cross-functional collaborator, working closely with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Executive Leadership to deliver results and elevate brand performance.

Job Responsibilities

 

Strategic Leadership

  • Drive profitable growth and expansion of Feed & Seed product lines in alignment with brand vision and customer expectations.
  • Champion product quality and ensure alignment with consumer preferences and market trends.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to ensure product offerings support brand positioning and resonate with target audiences.

Product & Portfolio Management

  • Lead innovation initiatives and continuous improvement across both brands.
  • Conduct and interpret key business analyses: market share, competitive landscape, SKU rationalization, pricing strategies, and consumer insights.
  • Optimize pricing, packaging, and margin mix; establish trade spending guidelines and distribution targets.
  • Partner with the General Manager to manage budgets, allocate resources, and monitor performance metrics.
  • Implement systems for tracking KPIs, reporting outcomes, and driving accountability.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Engage internal and external stakeholders to align on strategic priorities.
  • Foster a culture of constructive challenge and solution-oriented thinking across teams.
  • Represent the brands with professionalism and persuasive communication in all settings.

 

Job Requirements

 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in strategic business planning and sales alignment with proven results.
  • Minimum 5 years of brand-building experience within the hunting or outdoor industry.
  • Undergraduate or Graduate degree in a related field, preferred.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering complex initiatives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and presentations.
