Job Summary

The Automation Technician is responsible for developing and maintaining current and future automation needs for Moultrie. This includes developing and deploying new test fixtures and monitoring existing fixtures. The Automation Technician must be self-motivated and able to follow, document, and create procedures/processes. Working with different programming languages and software systems, they will need to be able to adapt to evolving changes.  As a “high confidence, low ego” team player, the Automation Technician will work with Hardware and software engineers and product managers to ensure product testing and other tasks are executed in a consistent and thorough manner. The Automation Technician for Moultrie must be detail oriented and able to multitask with multiple projects at the same time.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop wiring and program layouts for test fixtures.
  • Documentation and generation of detailed reports.
  • PC programming via Python or other languages
  • Build test fixtures using Dev boards such as Arduino/Teenzy/Adafruit etc.
  • Troubleshoot bugs and validation of fixes. 
  • Deep dive into nuisance issues to assist ODM with root cause.
  • Monitor existing automated testing for failures and improvements needed.
  • Basic electrical work (soldering/low voltage circuit wiring)
  • 3D printing fixture components
  • Design and assemble testing machines and fixtures
  • Perform routine maintenance of test benches, equipment, instruments, facility, etc.
  • Develop detailed test procedures and complete the necessary paperwork to record and report test results.

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1-2 years of Experience in PC based programming, or related field.
  • Python Experience
  • Must understand electronics and circuitry.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours.
  • At least one year of experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Technology or Electronics or related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in consumer electronics testing, Software Programming, or related field.
  • Familiarity with testing and troubleshooting methods.
  • Passionate about the outdoors
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team.

Essential Job Function

  • Must be able to lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand and work in high temperatures indoors and outdoors while performing duties of this job.
  • Must use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hand and arms.
  • Must be able to see all parts of the product to test for functionality.
