Job Summary

The Material Handler plays a critical role in supporting plant operations by safely and efficiently moving raw materials, work-in-process inventory, and finished goods throughout the facility. This position is responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment, ensuring accurate inventory movement, supporting production requirements, and maintaining a safe work environment.

The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while adhering to quality, productivity, and inventory control standards.

This position is located in our Vincent, Alabama warehouse.

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of six (6) months of forklift operating experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Forklift Certification.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and compare words, numbers, labels, and work orders accurately.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Essential Job Function

  • Safely operate forklifts and other powered industrial equipment to transport, load, unload, stack, and store materials efficiently, accurately, and safely
  • Stage materials for production and distribution activities.
  • Perform manual material handling, stacking, and unloading activities as needed.
  • Utilize barcode scanners and inventory management systems to track material transactions and allocate work orders.
  • Assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory accuracy initiatives.
  • Verify product quantities and locations using measuring devices and storage layouts.
  • Conduct daily pre-shift inspections of forklifts and material handling equipment.
  • Report equipment malfunctions, maintenance concerns, and safety hazards to supervision promptly.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA guidelines.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
  • Support quality standards by ensuring accurate handling and movement of materials.
