Job Summary
We’re seeking an O&M Technician to join our growing team. This person will be responsible for assisting the Operations & Maintenance team on maintaining the PV systems’ infrastructure and electrical equipment. You will also do preventive maintenance in order to prevent small problems from becoming large and more expensive. You will work closely with your team to make sure the solar power systems give the maximum generation. This role reports to the Manager of O&M.
Job Responsibilities

Prioritize O&M activities so that all projects maintain a minimum uptime of 95%

Identify, record and correct issues and deficiencies with extreme precision and detail

Successfully record work activities using the required applications and systems

Contribute to the continuous development and improvement of Cherry Street Energy operations and maintenance systems

Create new scalable systems and procedures from scratch in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with an entrepreneurial mindset

Effectively communicate across multiple business units to ensure daily operational excellence and collaboration, while also demonstrating the ability to work independently and autonomously in day-to-day tasks

Travel primarily limited to within the state of Georgia, some travel outside of the state may be required in the future.
Job Qualifications and Requirements
-
Minimum 1 year experience working performing technical troubleshooting, system commissioning, and/or photovoltaic (PV) operations and maintenance in a field-based environment.

Experience using and maintaining electrical and mechanical testing equipment, including but not limited to torque tools, multimeters, insulation resistance testers, I-V curve tracers, thermal cameras, low-resistance ohmmeters and earth ground testers.

Familiarity with the most common monitoring platforms (Wattch/AlsoEnergy/Locus, EGauge, SMA SunnyPortal, SolarEdge, Enphase, etc) and their use during commissioning, troubleshooting, and plant monitoring.

Familiarity with common causes of failure and under-performance for distributed generation PV systems.

Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC) 2014-2023 and its application to solar photovoltaic systems.

Familiarity with NFPA 70B 2023 and its application to solar photovoltaic systems.

NABCEP Certification for PV Installation Professional and/or Commissioning and Maintenance Specialist (preferred).

OSHA-10 Certification Preferred.

Proficient command of digital tools and online platforms, including but not limited to Procore, Smartsheet, Google Enterprise, SolarGrade, and CMMS software.

Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel, and the ability to learn new software platforms.

Proficient analytical skills with small data sets.

Proficient communication and teamwork skills.
