About the Program

EBSCO Industries, Inc. (EBSCO), one of the largest privately held, family-owned companies in the United States has a new opening within its Accelerator Program! The Accelerator Program is designed to create leadership development velocity for experienced and talented candidates. Participants can expect to build on their existing leadership capabilities, business acumen and technical skills in a fast-paced and growth-oriented environment; involvement in this program will ultimately create opportunities for placement into future roles within EBSCO’s operating companies.  

 

About the Position

EBSCO’s latest Accelerator opening is a Product Manager (PM) spot within our Luxor division based in Gurnee, IL.  This individual contributor role will assist in creating a formal product management discipline.  The PM accomplishes this through gaining an intimate understanding of the customer and competitive market, and translating this into product strategies and sales/marketing plans.  The PM will work closely with cross-functional teams innovating and defining Luxor’s product portfolio, including managing the product line/portfolio lifecycle from strategic planning to tactical implementation.

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Establish and define requirements for both new and existing products, and contribute to the overall vision and direction of the product portfolio
  • Conduct competitive research and market analysis; clearly articulate customer needs and the marketplace dynamics that impact the product line
  • Support the sales and marketing teams through a deep understanding of the products capabilities and the needs they fulfill for our customers and prospects
  • Implement necessary communications and change activities associated with product launches, process improvements and/or other business initiatives
  • Prepare, review and analyze financial and operational data, using information and interactions by stakeholders across the business to make good judgment on potential risks and issues for the purposes of making recommendations to management
  • Manage and coordinate critical, growth-oriented projects; working with various stakeholders within the assigned business(es) to determine scope, gather requirements; and executing on those deliverables as needed with high attention to detail
  • Demonstrate increasing leadership competencies and strengths with team members and outside business partners
  • Take ownership of personal and professional development through participation in program initiated meetings, attending all training sessions offered by the program and creating and maintaining a personal plan to track development and accomplishments throughout the year

 

Basic Requirements:

  • Holds Bachelor’s degree
  • 2-5 years of business-related, post-undergraduate work experience in areas such as marketing, finance, product management and/or operations
  • Willingness to travel up to 10-25% or as job requires
  • May require relocation upon completion of program

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in business administration
  • Undergraduate degrees in business, accounting, economics or finance are preferred
  • Marketing, entrepreneurship-focus
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, problem solving and conceptual skills
  • Creative, detail-oriented with solid organizational and planning skills
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills
  • Strong desire to learn with the ability to adapt to new situations
  • Strong team player with the ability to work with all levels within the company
  • Self-directed with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects
