INSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE JOB DESCRIPTION

 

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Reporting to the Inside Sales Manager, the Inside Sales Representative concentrates on managing customer relationships in a consultative selling way. The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for finding and selling new accounts, upgrading and cross-selling existing accounts, renewing accounts, and providing superior customer service and support.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND Responsibilities:

 

  • Proactively communicate to all customers on a quarterly basis to identify new opportunities
  • Focus on growing and developing assigned existing customers, together with generating new business
  • Gather competitive intelligence regarding pricing and other product information
  • Provide monthly opportunity pipeline reporting
  • Develop, maintain and grow sales relationships
  • Daily pricing, phone calls, emails, freight quotes, etc.
  • Complete account maintenance and administrative work
  • Provide proper reporting of sales activities meeting all KPI requirements
  • Meet company profit and sales goals

 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Interacting with other departments including purchasing, marketing, accounting, order entry

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

 

  • 2-3 years sales experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent work experience

 

Computer equipment and level of software requirements:

 

  • Intermediate Office Skills (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Experience using CRM (Salesforce preferred)-willing and committed to leveraging CRM software to improve sales effectiveness and sales team results
  • Experience using ERP systems to review customer and product data
  • Preferred web conferencing Teams/Zoom skills and comfort level interacting with customers and prospects through these virtual tools
