Currently Vulcan has a rare opening for a Continuous Improvement Coordinator at its facility in Moody, Alabama. This person will report to the President and be the Continuous Improvement Leader for all of Vulcan Industries. This person will attend multiple training sessions as well as lead training sessions. He/She will collaborate with department leaders in executing the Gemba process.

The CI Coordinator will develop, execute and sustain the Lean Improvement Plan. He/she will work closely with, and assist as needed, all departments of Vulcan Industries to ensure program consistency and a unified approach to continuous improvement. He/she will facilitate and manage LEAN activities, ensure on-time


This person will participate in and lead many LEAN activities, such as:

Facilitate and manage all Lean activities and ensure on-time completion and report results to Management.
Interface and coordinate with Corporate Lean OPS Team
Implement communication tools to foster a lean environment and improve lean culture.
Explain LEAN principles and proper use of LEAN tools across the company and in particular to manufacturing floor employees.

Identify and coordinate LEAN improvement opportunities, leading to improvements in on time delivery and efficiencies while reducing costs and inventory.

Required Skills 
-  Bachelor’s degree in a technical or management field

-  Minimum 2 years’ experience leading Lean/Continuous Improvement transformation in a production related environment
-  Must have experience using lean tools, 8 Wastes, 6S, Gemba walks, value stream mapping, takt time and standard work, pull systems, Kanbans, single piece flow, material flow, level scheduling, poke yoke, SMED, and TPM

Preferred Skills- 
5 years’ experience in a Lean/Continuous Improvement position in a manufacturing environment leading lean transformation.
