Job Summary

IMAGEN Brands is seeking an experienced Controller to organize and manage the accounting and finance activities for multiple plants and sales locations. The Controller is responsible for ensuring the company's financial plans and policies, its accounting practices, and system of internal controls designed to mitigate risk are adhered to at each division. The position is located in Mason, Ohio and would report to the VP of Finance.


Job Responsibilities

A Controller would be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Financial Planning & Analysis:
    • Directs and coordinates financial planning functions under guidance of VP Finance
    • Coordinates annual budget preparation under guidance of VP Finance
    • Analyzes monthly operating results against budget
    • Assists in preparation of financial outlooks and financial forecasts
    • Coordinates annual catalog pricing effort
    • Administers, monitors and analyzes Capital Budget 
    • Issues regular status and ad hoc financial reports and analysis
  • Financial and Management Reporting:
    • Coordinates the preparation of all financial reports and statements
    • Prepares consolidated financial statements and monthly executive financial package for Corporate Finance an Executive leadership team
    • Ensures the timeliness and accuracy of month end closing.
    • Serves as primary interface to internal and external audits (Financial and Tax)
    • Develops and manages the accounting system to provide accurate and timely information used for decision making and reporting
    • Reviews any unusual adjustments impacting financial results
    • Reviews all journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations to support accurate financial results
    • Responsible for the daily management reporting and analysis of product margins including cost issues
  • Oversee daily operations of the Finance and Accounting department:
    • Assists VP Finance in implementing short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
    • Recruits, trains, develops, and supervises department staff
    • Evaluates departments and make suggestions for automating processes and increasing working efficiency
    • Serves as the primary contact with plant and sales personnel for any accounting related questions
    • Responsible for the integrity of the perpetual inventory system. 
      • Ensures accurate average costing of inventory
      • Coordination of annual physical inventory
    • Verifies the integrity of all systems, processes and data and spearheads the development or improvement of these systems and controls
    • Ensures compliance with all laws and regulations, specifically sales tax
    • Responsible for safe guarding all assets including company own automobiles
    • Subject matter expert for all Accounting related ERP activity

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent work experience
  • At least 5 years of progressively responsible accounting and financial experience for a manufacturing company
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience

  • Experience in Promotional Products or Gift Industry
