We are seeking a passionate and experienced Accessibility Specialist to join our team building a cutting-edge SaaS platform. As a key member of our development team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our platform is accessible in conformance with the latest accessibility standards. Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain an accessibility roadmap for our SaaS platform
  • Conduct accessibility testing and evaluations of platform features
  • Work with third parties on Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates (VPAT)
  • Work with development teams to ensure accessibility and VPAT conformance is integrated into the design and development process
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest accessibility and internationalization standards and technologies, including WCAG 2.x, Section 508, EN 301 549, AODA and others
  • Provide training and support to development teams on accessibility best practices
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address accessibility and maintain conformance 

 

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proficient in Section 508, WCAG 2.x and EN 301 549
  • 1-2 years minimum experience in web accessibility testing and evaluation techniques
  • Experience with accessibility technologies and assistive technologies, such as screen readers and keyboard navigation
  • Proven experience working in an Agile development environment
  • Familiarity with VPATs, including the ability to read and maintain them
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Passionate about Accessibility & equitable experiences
  • Understanding of technology limitations and restrictions 

 

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, human-computer interaction, or related field is considered advantageous
  • Experience with accessibility & internationalization in native iOS & Android applications
