The SLS Editor for adult nursing and health professions products will provide clinical oversight of the systematic literature surveillance process, assuring production of adult care content that is clinically-sound, current, and relevant at the point-of-care.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Improve SLS workflow processes, tools, and search strategies to support currency initiatives. Serve as a liaison with librarians.
  • Review new literature (guidelines, research) for clinical quality and relevance to clinical practice.
  • Concisely summarize the most valid, relevant evidence from journal articles and clinical guidelines.
  • Oversee guideline update work across content collections
    • Review guidelines and evaluate content collections for clinically relevant changes.
    • Write topic update statements/recommendations for content changes to be reviewed in partnership with clinical editorial staff.
    • Maintain guideline archives & folders to create a historical record of guideline impacts overtime.
  • Collaborate with editorial team to perform regular literature surveillance for and management of standard and reusable content.
  • Drive improvements in editorial methodology: become grading/leveling experts, mentor to others, and provide education/training on methodology.

 

Requirements:

  • Clinical healthcare professional (RN,OT, PT, RT, SW, SLP) with expertise in an adult care specialty
  • 3 or more years of writing experience related to medical or scientific content
  • 3 or more years of direct patient care/clinical experience at the baccalaureate level or higher with license/certification current and in good standing
  • Master’s degree (Doctorate degree preferred)
    • 2 years of experience with critical research appraisal; identification and determination of clinical relevance and applicability of clinical research and guidelines
  • Understands principles of evidence-based care and use of web-based tools for clinical decision making
  • Education/certification in library science (preferred)

Required Skills/Attributes:

  • Knowledge of PubMed and other searching strategies
  • Ability to translate findings from research into practice and write concisely with minimal errors according to Dynamic Health Style Guide
  • Skilled with working across teams, time management, consensus building, and leading projects
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously under time constraints
  • Flexibility and ability to effectively manage changing workload demands and priorities
  • Motivated self-learner with strong attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn XML or other editing software such as Distiller, Rally, Microsoft Sharepoint, and SDL

 

Target Annual Salary Range: $64,160.00 - $91,660.00. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, education, training, and experience, as well as the position’s work location.
