As a technical product manager within the Cloud Business Office, you will play a key role in helping EBSCO become a cloud first company. You will solve problems for customers as they adopt the AWS public cloud and work to ensure customers succeed remarkably after adopting.  As a customer-obsessed leader you will ensure that customer cloud enablement needs are clearly understood and assist in developing plans and roadmaps to meet those needs.  You will work collaboratively with architecture and other members of the Cloud Business Office team to develop and manage enablement products.


What you’ll do:

  • Interact with cloud customers to understand and solve their enablement challenges.
  • Become a subject matter expert in our capabilities for software engineers performing Development, Testing, Security and Operations functions in the AWS public cloud.
  • Understand and convey the business elements of platform product management.
  • Collaborate with the Cloud Business Office team to craft solutions into suites of products.
  • Represent your customer needs by clearly communicating and supporting ongoing platform engineering efforts.
  • Own and drive initiatives through a cross-functional organization.
  • Mentor other product managers and/or product owners on product management related topics.
  • Know your product and customer details and contribute a genuine passion and enthusiasm for the product, the customer, and the company mission
  • Collaborate with software architects to ensure the necessary technical capabilities are in place on which to build high performing, secure, and extensible software capabilities and features
  • Contribute to the prioritization of work efforts within the business office and within the platform engineering organization.
  • Provide first-class customer service and ensure high quality outcomes for our customers.
  • Ensure all products are effectively documented to the delight of the consumer.
  • Proactively communicate progress, decisions, impediments, and risks.
  • Perform gap analysis and anticipate all product requirements.
  • Analyze, organize and communicate insights gained from metrics and/or other data.
  • Assist engineering teams with submitting product feature requests for Cloud Platform capabilities and features.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with leaders across the org in Product Management, Technology Management, Architecture, Finance and the Lean Enterprise Office.

Skills or experience you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information science related field /Master’s Preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ IT experience with an engineering, operations or platform product management background.
  • Minimum of 3 years with technical strategy and/or product management.
  • Willingness to research and self-study to keep technical skills relevant in a highly complex environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with great attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to adapt to the audience (technical and non-technical).
  • Strong CI/CD/CO fundamentals and experience with tools within the continuous delivery landscape (Jenkins, CircleCI, Codeship, GitLab, Travis, CodeDeploy, Azure DevOps, etc.)
  • Subject matter proficiency within at least one of the following disciplines: observability, infrastructure management, security, policy as code, public cloud governance at scale.
  • Prior experience working in an enterprise-class cloud environment (public or private).
  • Comfortable working in cross functional and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize deadlines.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.


Skills or experience that might set you apart from other candidates:

  • Experience building products in a public cloud environment - AWS, Azure, Google
  • Experience with AWS multi-account patterns, Landing Zone and/or Control Tower
  • Experience with releasing, coordinating and launching products.
  • Experience building and maintaining product roadmaps.
  • Experience with frictionless governance at scale and policy as code.
  • Experience operating/supporting highly available runtime software.
  • Experience working directly with customers.
  • Prior management experience (4 or more direct reports).
  • A track record of highlighting difficult, systemic problems and working with others to define and implement effective solutions.
