Position Overview 

Product Manager for Data Platform

Product Management (PM) is currently seeking a technically oriented, Director of Product Management to assist with building out our next generation data platform. This platform will process billions of transaction and article types of data every month and make it accessible to downstream consumers. You will make a significant contribution to improving our ability to enrich, protect and deliver data that supports a mix of internal and external customer needs.


  • Manage and develop a group of high-performing product managers and product owners
  • Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap that enhances platform capabilities while aligning to business objectives
  • Participate in all pertinent SAFe ceremonies for the Data Platform ART
  • Prioritize all work across all teams on the ART ensuring that highest business value is being achieved
  • Use, modify, create, and maintain tools, analytics, and reporting to summarize and highlight data platform key performance indicators (KPI) which include utilization, platform health and platform costs.
  • Apply data driven, Pragmatic approach to understand how changes in data platform features impact customers and business outcomes.
  • Understand data policies related to various compliance/regulations and drive audits to ensure we are complying where applicable. Where not, create plan and prioritize work to ensure we comply.
  • Investigate data/content issues reported by customers, communicate root cause of issues, and ensure backlogs have work to address issues.
  • Maintain models and related artifacts of data contexts, behaviors, system components.




  • 10+ years of experience in systems/business analysis, software engineering or related field.
  • 5-8 years of content processing domain experience
  • 5+ years of working as an individual contributor in a technical role (QA, software engineer, architect, etc.)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate findings and recommendations to non-technical audiences.
  • 3+ years for supervisor and/or management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Tableau experience
  • Kibana/Grafana experience
  • Apache Airflow or similar technology
  • AWS
  • Experience with large scale ETL
  • SAFe Practitioner



30 Day Objectives

  • Become acquainted with Business Intelligence portion of data platform capabilities, tooling and teams.
  • Craft requirements for data platform KPI that we should be tracking and informs our priorities
  • Meet individually with program team and direct reports from the ART. Establish recurring 1-1 meetings and team syncs.
  • Able to access existing SI data sources relevant to data platform systems and capture aggregate statistics about data platform related SI



60 Day Objective

  • Become acquainted with content portion of data platform capabilities, tooling and teams.
  • Participate and contribute to feature and capability refinement sessions, especially in areas of acceptance criteria
  • Assisting with build-out of data platform model in LeanIX
  • Active participant in all SAFe ceremonies and assisting with prioritizing work on the ART



90 Day Objective

  • Become full-time BO for the Data Platform ART
  • Detailed KPI tracking progress/impact of data platform features as they are delivered to customers
  • Create Data Platform strategic roadmap and present to executive stakeholders
