The Deputy Editor will be responsible for supporting the Editor-in-Chief in overseeing the development of high-quality content for EHR integration and digital workflow integration product strategies for the interprofessional team, applying clinical workflow knowledge, experience in clinical informatics and the principles of evidence-based practice. The candidate must have the ability to analyze and translate evidence-based content into meaningful workflow components, write clinical content as well as edit work produced by clinical editorial teams. An advanced practice degree in a health discipline with a focus in health informatics (e.g., PhD, MSN, DNP, DPT, MSW) is preferred with at least 3 years’ experience in direct patient care is required.


  • Serve as content authority for EHR integration and digital formats and industry standards to optimize clinical decision support within specific content domain(s), and facilitate topic content enhancement and development, systematic literature surveillance, and regular update
  • Recruit and develop high-performing network of clinical specialists (content writers) within specific content domain(s)
  • Provide subject matter expertise, education and thought leadership on clinical informatics
  • Provide leadership in translating clinical practice needs into integrated technology solutions
  • Promote product sales, adoption and usage through ongoing clinical activities
  • Support culture of teamwork, and contribute to staff/writer development through effective editing, and feedback
  • Maintain quality of content development and editorial processes for clinical decision support formats by participating in quality and efficiency initiatives
  • Ability and willingness to learn and lead internal editorial systems and workflows
  • Ability to travel periodically to company sponsored conferences or for team events
  • Oversee training of new team members and clinical content writers as needed
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Clinical degree in a health discipline
  • > 5 years in a clinical informatics position
  • > 5 years of progressive leadership experience as team leader or project leader in a healthcare organization or informatics company
  • > 3 years of direct patient care, knowledge of the clinical process/interprofessional collaboration and experience using one of the major electronic medical record systems
  • Willingness to maintain ongoing scholarly activities within profession and clinical informatics
  • Demonstrated understanding/use of principles of evidence-based practice and use of health information technology to support clinical decision making
  • Demonstrated ability to extract relevant clinical information from research and write concisely for technology integration and digital transformation
  • Knowledge of PubMed, CINAHL searching strategies
  • Knowledge of EHR standards and integration strategies such as meaningful use, interoperability, coding nomenclatures, FHIR, HL7, Info button, EHR Apps
  • > 5 years’ experience with MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a health discipline (PhD, MSN, DNP, DPT, MSW)
  • Specialty certification in clinical informatics, current and in good standing
  • Past experience transforming clinical content for EHR initiatives (workflow analysis, coding, CDS), exercising judgment to make decisions and produced meaningful decision support content for point of care providers
  • Ability to self-manage multiple priorities within deadlines, work collaboratively across teams, delegate tasks and responsibilities, and report on work produced
  • Experience implementing evidence-based practice within digital systems such as LMS, EHR, Mobile Apps
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, such as initiative and a strong work ethic
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills such that feedback is effectively and constructively given
  • Motivated self-learner with focus on team success
