This position calls for experience in data governance and data quality across multiple disparate data sources. The data steward should have a keen understanding of how to diagnose data quality issues, how to remediate and who to contact when remediation cannot be done by the data steward. The data steward should understand international compliance requirements in order to identify violations in data. The candidate will be required to work with both customers and the development team on matters of data quality.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with the data ops team to monitor data ingestion and react when there are data quality issues
  • Interface with customers to maintain data quality
  • Work with the development team to ensure that data processing maintains data quality and governance requirements
  • Expected to become a subject matter expert for data ingested from all data sources


  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Data Science, a related field of study or equivalent practical experience. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in a data related role
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills


Preferred Qualifications:

  • SQL experience
  • Experience with cloud-based analytics technologies – AWS, Snowflake, etc.
  • Data governance experience
  • Familiarity with compliance requirements, GDPR, FERPA, etc.
  • Experience with Agile
