Working closely with the Sales Director and Account Manager you will manage and develop business in the assigned sales territory.    

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains existing and develops new business within the assigned region (Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Iceland, Estonia).

 

  • In collaboration with Director of Sales and Account Manager determine target accounts, sales projections, pipeline and activity plans;
  • Create, implement and manage the appropriate sales process utilising internal resources including Customer Relationship Management software to manage activities and to maintain account records appropriately;
  • Understands objectives and how they align with the department’s and company’s objectives. Meet regularly with Director of Sales to discuss progress towards achieving these objectives for the assigned territory.
  • Work with Sales and Marketing teams to respond to tenders, prepare written proposals, provide pricing and information regarding terms of sales and delivery dates and quotes for customers
  • Build and maintain a high standard of rapport with potential & existing customers through personal visits (200 per annum) [when feasible]
  • Produce accurate call reports including action points within 24 hours of contact
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations/gives product demonstrations to new prospects and existing customers.
  • Present sales projections, pipeline and activity levels at internal monthly sales meetings
  • Coordinate with the marketing team to plan and coordinate all marketing materials for conferences and regional specific marketing campaigns including group presentations and focus groups.
  • Communicate and assist in training internal departments on marketplace needs and how services provided by Company will fulfill customer requirements and needs.
  • Communicates all activities pertaining to territory, including market analysis and funding information, to management.\
  • Develop and remain current on technical knowledge of industry

 

TRAVEL RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Position requires overnight travel.   Visit prospects on average 80% of the working week [recognising local travel restrictions may mean some video calls replace physical visits].

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Degree or equivalent required. 
  • Successful sales/service experience serving needs of medical/academic/research libraries and/or consortia
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (being a good listener, expressing oneself clearly)
  • Excellent knowledge of medical or academic library market and higher education administration is highly desirable
  • Must be I.T. literate and proficient in Microsoft Office programs.                                               
  • Understanding of key business concepts, supply chains, distribution, customer service and emerging technologies
