EBSCO is seeking a driven Senior Product Manager to own and lead enterprise-wide content metadata quality efforts used to fuel our customer-facing products and services. Effective metadata management for our content is a key part of EBSCO’s mission to provide access to information for all users, when, how, and where they need it.
This is a high visibility, highly collaborative role working with many teams to foster metadata quality awareness and best practices in product development and content integration. Passion for data analysis is a must, as is deep knowledge of data analysis concepts, tools, and practices. The Senior Product Manager acts as a leader across the company, and collaborates closely with product leaders, technology, content integration, business analysts, UI design, and executive stakeholders.
Metadata Program Management Responsibilities:
- Analyze metadata quality problems based on buyer and user feedback across EBSCO’s range of products and services.
- Identify what metadata is pervasively used and most urgent to improve across EBSCO’s interfaces and products.
- Manage the UX metadata enablement roadmap, aligning with stakeholders on improvements needed, advocating for enhancements, and presenting to executives.
- Work across Business PM teams to identify new opportunities to reuse existing metadata or license new data registries needed to deliver new customer-facing functionality.
- Assess metadata quality understanding and identify gaps across EBSCO’s teams; facilitate training where needed.
- Work with content integration and other PM leadership on metadata governance improvements to continually improve the UI experience.
- Act as internal metadata expert and champion metadata standards alignment across EBSCO.
- Participate in industry working groups to influence industry metadata and data delivery standard.
- Evangelize best practices for metadata management and data delivery methods across information providers and across EBSCO.
Metadata Product Management Responsibilities:
- Leverage pragmatic best practices to determine which market problems we need to solve within the next 2-3 years and why we need to solve them.
- Act as the voice of the customer for metadata impacting the UI experience; motivate teams to keep metadata quality in mind.
- Own the vision around metadata quality automation, and influence company strategy and executive stakeholders.
- Own and maintain a roadmap for metadata quality enhancements.
- Work with other Product Managers, Designers, and Developers to define metadata quality requirements and priorities.
- Work with sales and customer satisfaction teams to inform and support metadata strategy and market needs.
- Evangelize understanding of metadata quality and conduct presentations internally and externally as needed across a variety of audiences.

Who You Are / Relevant Experience:

Required Experience:
- 7+ years working in a Product Management, Product Owner, or Business Analyst capacity in a software delivery capacity OR equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of in-depth experience analyzing complex data problems and independently using data analysis tools to drive decision-making.
- 2+ years of demonstrated ability to leverage pragmatic analysis to analyze market problems and work across teams to resolve them.
- 2+ years working in a lean-agile software development environment.
- 2+ years gathering, organizing, and evaluating information or data as input from stakeholders to determine requirements and specifications.
- 1+ years working in a lean and/or agile environment, SAFe experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical professionals.
Target Annual Compensation Range: $126,835 - $181,195. This Pay Target range includes a bonus target of 5% of base salary. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, education, training, and experience, as well as the position’s work location.
