The Corporate Strategist will contribute to developing, communicating, and executing on EBSCO Information Services (EIS) strategy to drive growth over the long term.  This individual will primarily work with the other members of the Corporate Strategy department to analyze key product lines, strategic opportunities and external market data, taking lead responsibility on quantitative analysis and data modeling efforts. She/he will be a key contributor to strategic projects by providing analytical insights and helping to communicate these to executive leadership, sales, product management, and finance.  The role will report to the Corporate Strategy Manager for EBSCO Information Services. 


Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following areas:

  • Partner with the Corporate Strategy Manager to design the scope, framework, approach, timeline and deliverables for Corporate Strategy projects
  • Research, and track internal and external data on competition, industries, and consumer trends in relevant EBSCO industries and geographies
  • Analyze internal data around pricing, market share, etc. across business lines / geographies and frame analysis in context of broader market / external data
  • Assist with acquisition due diligence including financial modeling, target customer analysis, competitive analysis
  • Work cross-functionally to collaborate on key data and analysis
  • Contribute to the documentation of internal knowledge


Desired Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience at a management consulting firm, investment bank, or within an equivalent corporate strategy group
  • Detail-oriented strategic thinker with both analytical and conceptual problem-solving capabilities and ability to analyze information and develop resolutions with imperfect data
  • Excellent skills with quantitative analysis, spreadsheet modeling, and data manipulation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and strong presence in front of senior executives
  • Ability to build trust-based relationships, influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
  • Effective communication skills with proven capability to synthesize complex information into a logical and compelling story and communicate in a succinct manner
  • Expert MS Office Skills, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to learn quickly and maintain high performance in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have undergraduate degree
