Your Opportunity

In this remote position as a Buyer with the GOBI Library Solutions from EBSCO team, you will play a key role in successfully supporting our academic library customers in building their collection of both print and digital books.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Build and maintain relationships with external suppliers (publishers).
  • Ensure complete coverage of frontlist and forthcoming titles for assigned publishers as part of GOBI’s Approval Plan Service.
  • Understand and monitor the business landscape for new content of interest to our customer base that could supplement approval plan coverage.
  • Review sales performance of publishers and support updating vendors included in approval plan service. 
  • Monitor for publisher-related changes such as distribution, location, business status, etc. and take action to incorporate in GOBI’s system.
  • Support contract labor team through training, mentorship, and auditing.
  • Build and maintain critical working knowledge of operations and systems.
  • Effectively query and analyze database tables to support business needs.

 

Your Team

You will be welcomed as a member of the book purchasing and order management team (a team of about 10 people). Our team enjoys the flexibility and greater work-life balance working remotely offers. About You

  • 2+ years’ experience in operations, purchasing, order management, or similar.
  • Solid communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Experience working with external partners.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Access and Excel

 

What sets you apart:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with the Bookselling or Publishing industry
  • Experience with Workflow Management Systems.
  • Drive for continuous improvement, self-managing, and ability to implement change.
  • Record of success applying technology to forecast product demand, manage inventory, or similar business applications.
  • Participation in quality control and auditing.

 

Our Offer to You:

Target Annual Compensation Range: $48,260 - $68,945

 

The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, education, training, and experience, as well as the position’s work location.
