The Partnership Development Account Executive’s primary responsibility is to actively sell publisher-specific journals and packages to relevant institutions across all markets. The Partnership Development Account Executive is responsible for all aspects of the sales process from sourcing new sales opportunities to closing and processing new business.  In addition, they will also be responsible for a portfolio of additional publishers, working with the sales team and publishers to provide pricing, reporting and general inquiries.


Primary Responsibilities             

  • Direct sales of publisher-specific journals and packages via telephone, email, and video conferencing
  • Achieves an expert level of publisher-specific content/product knowledge, EBSCO Information Services knowledge, as well as an expert level of knowledge about the defined competition
  • Engage in regular discussions with EBSCO Sales Management and Publisher Partner Management to discuss and strategize on Opportunities and Pipeline Projections
  • Participate in the pricing and planning of official offers: an understanding of the pricing grids for a set group of publishers
  • Manage and prioritize pricing cases in Sales CRM system
  • Prepare quotes, forward literature, administrative data entry, product demonstration, set up trials
  • Work directly with publishers to obtain current royalties and pricing
  • Complete all assignments and special projects as requested by EBSCO Sales Management  


Required Qualifications

  • Must have college degree or 2+ years or equivalent work experience


Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to make first time (cold) calls, manage customer accounts, understand content and functionality as well as the understanding of on-line services as they pertain to information delivery
  • 2+ years experience selling in the field or by telephone. 
  • Time management skills are a must.  The successful candidate must be able to prioritize multiple tasks.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.  The ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment, is critical.
  • Understand best practices as it relates to both end user experience and administrative user experience
