Mission:
The Architect for user interface is a leader who has the technical responsibility for the overall architectural and engineering design of the system. The Architect interfaces with business stakeholders and cross functional teams to participate in the definition of the higher-level functional and nonfunctional requirements, analyze technical trade-offs, determine the major components, and define the interfaces and collaborations between them. They also validate technology assumptions and evaluate alternatives. The Architect serves as the primary architectural coach for each team ensuring that team-led design runs in sync with the product/solution architecture and underlying platform architecture.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Participate in analysis, definition, design, and planning of our current and future solutions
  • Work directly with agile engineering teams from analysis to implementation
  • Own, develop, review, and enhance design artifacts and documentation
  • Work with internal customers, program team, and stakeholders to establish high-level solution intent and direction
  • Plan and develop architecture in support of upcoming business features and capabilities
  • Establish critical nonfunctional requirements at the solution and team level
  • Participate in quarterly, company-wide planning exercises
  • Interact regularly with business stakeholders, program, and engineering teams about features under development
  • Participate in design/code reviews

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field of study.
  • 3+ years in an architect capacity focused on user interface design and development
  • Deep knowledge of the client-side development ecosystem. React, Redux, WebPack, Node.js
  • Deep understanding of SOA/REST/Microservices concepts
  • Experience and work knowledge of cloud-based architecture and solutions (AWS certifications are a plus)
  • Experience partnering with business and engineering teams to architect and strategize technology and UI roadmaps
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills with ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical professionals
  • Excellent relationship management skills
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and efficiently balance between them
  • A sense of urgency and a strong bias for action

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience and understanding of UI/UX design principles for mobile devices
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge and experience applying enterprise patterns to solving business problems
  • Experience running Agile methodology and applying Agile to UI development
  • A highly self-motivated individual who acts proactively, and acknowledges challenges, takes responsibility, and determines what can be done to solve the problem.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and experience managing complex calendars
  • Experience with web-based tools for collaboration and communication
  • Exhibits sound judgement and makes wise decisions, despite ambiguity
