Job description:
Designs, develops, codes, tests, debugs and/or customizes information technology (IT) solutions for own business or external clients. Applies best practices and advanced methodologies, including Scrum techniques, to address and review system requirements, business processes, changing development and technology environments. Responsibilities are within the IT Development Function as a generalist or in a combination of Disciplines. Typical profile at this level: Has in-depth knowledge in own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines. Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions. Works independently; receives minimal guidance. May lead projects or project steps within a broader project or have accountability for ongoing activities or objectives. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Experience writing software and an understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Self-directed, demonstrates leadership and a team player
  • Proficiency of the AWS Platform and AWS provisioning and management tools
  • Experience or background in Build and Release Engineering, automated build systems and continuous delivery pipelines such as Jenkins, AWS CodeBuild
  • Competency using languages such as Python and BASH scripting.
  • Experience in orchestration tools such as: Kubernetes, Docker
  • Practical knowledge of observability tooling such as: Prometheus, Grafana, AppDynamics, SumoLogic, ElasticSearch

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Automated integration, acceptances and/or contract driven test scenarios
  • Microservices and microservice design patterns and architecture; experience with Istio
  • Performance testing, security and quality strategies and techniques; experience with SonarQube, CheckMarx, SauceLabs
  • Web services lifecycle, API versioning and design
  • Experience using source control systems; such as GitHub, Subversion, BitBucket
  • Enthusiasm and adaptability for working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Experience with evaluating and integrating open source and in-house developed toolsets
  • Passionate about learning new technologies
