This position calls for experience with data ingestion orchestration technology. This Software Engineer should be a self-starter that can handle multiple priorities simultaneously.  Most importantly, the candidate should display a proven background in software development, agile practices, content management, critical thinking, software testing and a desire to broaden their software development skills. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Extend or fix existing Appworx libraries and Java components.  Appworx is an orchestration tool.
  • Develop Appworx flows to setup/modify data flows.
  • Develop and implement automated testing strategies and test case scenarios
  • Troubleshoot data pipeline issues that range from custom code to configuration problems.
  • Maintain existing servers and services in dev/QA environment.
  • Fix existing live software defects
  • Learn and assess new tools to aid in testing process
  • Collaborate with product management and your team while analyzing and decomposing complex software features into simpler stories for planning and execution.
  • Collaborate with your team to manage and estimate the size and complexity of the features/stories and commit to what can be accomplished in an iteration.
  • Collaborate with your team to gain knowledge on the domains and be self-sufficient in addressing any defects
  • Author, review, and help in implementation of test plans, test cases, and automated tests to ensure adequate coverage based on requirements
  • Be the technical leader for features and defects, responsible for ensuring that development activities are coordinated throughout the development cycle.
  • Own system and feature quality throughout the development, testing, and deployment phases to ensure delivery expectations (both time and quality) are met.
  • Drive value and continuously improve the quality of the team’s deliverables.
  • Demonstrate ownership of developed components from development through production.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with Linux/Windows
  • 5+ years experience working with Java & OOP concepts, able to write JUnit tests using mocked libraries
  • 5+ years working with Javascript/JSON/Node.js
  • 5+ years of experience with Perl, Linux shell script experience
  • 3+ years of experience using a continuous delivery pipeline technologies like Jenkins
  • 3+ years of experience with Source Control Systems such as GIT, TFS or similar systems

 

 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a SAFe/agile team
  • Experience working with C#
  • Knowledge or working experience with Appworx or orchestration software a plus
  • Experience working with J2EE, MongoDB, RDBMS
  • Experience working with XML, XML Schema, XSLT 1.0, and regular expressions.
  • Experience with object-oriented design/development principles 
  • Experience with writing technical documents/specifications and comfortable documenting functionality/applications as required
