Program Manager for Web Application Security, Platform Reliability, and Infrastructure Operations

 

This position is positioned to be a key player within the ISO Leadership Team.  The mission of the Program Manager is to plan, prioritize, coordinate, and align the efforts of multiple agile software development teams in the areas of web application security, platform reliability, and infrastructure initiatives for On-Premise and Platform Cloud Operations.  To optimize the throughput of deliverables that meet internal and external customer needs and optimize business value, we are looking for a knowledgeable hands-on Program Manager to partner with the EIS Lean Enterprise Office (LEO) to ensure alignment with our Agile Release Trains (ARTs) planning practices and cadence.  The EIS ARTs are our long-lived team of Agile teams, that in alignment with LEO guide and prioritize the execution of product and software delivery with the use of Lean tools, practices, and principles.   Located within Information Security and Operations (ISO) Group, the Program Manager will liaise with Lean Portfolio Management, Lean Enterprise Organization, Product Management, and across Technology Department Engineering in the building and execution of the company's technical and operations roadmap.

Specific tasks include developing programs to support the organization's strategic direction, as well as facilitating the development and management of long term goals, operating plans, and program funding proposals.  To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate should have prior experience in both program management and project management as well as s strong working knowledge of SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework for Enterprise).

 

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with ISO leadership and product owners to drive the creation and prioritization of the ISO Portfolio backlog and coordinate prioritization of work across the Value Stream
  • Assist ISO Leadership to develop new SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-bound) goals and objectives.
  • Work with LEO to identify opportunities for training, and adoption of Lean management principles and practices across EIS.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, training, and governance that will help us grow our continuous improvement culture, improve operational efficiency, and reinforce Lean and Agile best practices with engineering teams, stakeholders and peers 
  • Assist ISO Leadership in collaborating with technical directors, managers, and product owners creating and managing the ISO Group portfolio backlog.
  • Align and work with Scrum Masters and ART Release Train Engineers across Agile Release Trains (ARTs) to drive commitments and align dependencies
  • Use existing data and metrics to understand team and department level progress or potential areas of concern and take actionable steps to ensure project goals are achieved.
  • Execute relevant Agile ceremonies to help with planning activities and produce accurate and timely status reporting throughout program life cycle.
  • Support ISO delivery of committed work, communicate and coordinate key service needs
  • Institute process improvement measures to enable the organization's performance
  • Proactively communicate progress, decisions, impediments, and risks
  • Proactively analyze and clearly communicate progress, decisions, impediments, and risks

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in Project or Program Management or scrum master role
  • 3+ years prior experience with facilitating software development teams within a Lean-agile software product development method, such as Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe
  • 3+ years of proven experience managing a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Solid understanding of Lean Agile practices and principles
  • Solid experience with metrics-based decision making

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Lean and/or Agile certifications
  • PMP certifications
  • Bachelor or master's degree in computers (Skills/Experience can be substituted for degree)
  • Technical understanding in any of the fields of Reliability Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, Networking, and Security
