As a DevOps Engineer you will work on an Agile development team to perform Database Production Pipeline engineering.  You will create products and services that will support infrastructure deployments and routine maintenance in an automated fashion with in the on-prem infrastructure. 


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Build resilience, infuse optimizations, and provide support for EIS' Database Production platform tools / solutions through automated methodologies
  • Develop utilities and scripts to help with effective onboarding and integration of new servers and applications where applicable to the Database Production pipeline
  • Contribute to consolidation and retirement of Database Production tools
  • Help drive new initiatives to drive savings and broader and consistent adoption of key tools.
  • Help establish "Operational Viability" standards and guidelines for Database production pipeline tools in place, and deliver automated solutions in the form of Ansible books or PHP scripts to support the same.
  • Work with ART teams to help support various business needs, pertaining to tools / solutions.
  • Work with the Enterprise Platform Team to develop and onboard pipeline applications and systems for Systems patching, Certs Renewal, Lease Returns, Production Assembly,
  • Develop methodology and automation for decommissioning of older hardware
  • System support for storage upgrades/maintenance
  • Understand current backlog of security vulnerabilities, and patching hosts
  • Document respective configurations, processes and procedures
  • Make recommendations for architectural enhancements to improve security & performance      
  • Collaborate with developers and product owners to develop high-quality solutions
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the team
  • Contribute to the team’s ability to make and deliver on their commitments
  • Contribute to the architecture and design decisions for the pipeline of database product tools
  • Provide support to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex Integration and/or environmental issues
  • Create monitoring solutions and instrument applications to provide insights into performance and to understand emerging issues
  • Pro-actively monitor environment and application health for potential issues and take action to preserve SLAs.
  • Provide 24X7 applications support
  • Document respective configurations, processes and procedures
  • Make recommendations for architectural enhancements to improve security & performance
  • Provide technical assistance for code builds and deployments

Required Qualifications


  • 2-4 years’ experience in IT Operations and/or Development with background in support of platform components. Ex: UC4/Atomic/Appworks, MySQL, Zabbix, Nagios, Prometheus
  • Bachelors Degree-Preferably Computer Science or related field
  • 3-4 years’ experience with DevOps technology, programming and scripting. Ex: Jenkins, CI/CD, Python, Docker, Ansible, Git(hub), Consul, Elasticsearch, Puppet, Ruby, Powershell
  • 3-4 years’ of experience with one or more Web and Application Server technologies. Ex: IIS, Apache HTTPD, Apache Tomcat, Nginx, Glassfish, JBoss
  • 3-5 years’ working in Operating System administrative role
    • Windows Server 2008/2012
    • Redhat Linux 6.0+ , SUSE, CentOS
  • 3-5 years’ familiarity with infrastructure technology-DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, VMWare, P9, Infoblox, Load Balancing technologies like F5 or AVI


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or MIS preferred
  • Knowledge of AWS and Cloud Computing concepts (preferred experience with AWS Elastic Beanstalk, AWS CloudFormation or AWS OpsWorks)
  • Knowledge of physical hardware infrastructure, building physical servers in a Cisco environment using UCS tooling
  • Experience with network and file protocols including HTTP, SFTP, XML, HTML, etc…
  • Programming language experience (e.g. Java, node.js, Javascript, .NET, PHP)
  • Solid understanding of server architectures, operating systems & application resource utilization
  • Scaled Agile Framework training (SAFe for Teams) and experience preferred and experience working in an Agile environment (Scrum, Kanban)
  • Understand the relationships between the Scaled Definition of Done, Stories, Features, Releases, Nonfunctional Requirements, and Engineering Guidelines
  • Ability to take ownership of issues and drive them to resolution, strong problem-solving skills, and provide Post-mortem analysis to teams.
  • Written and verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to deliver on long and short term projects
  • Strong desire to learn and increase knowledge set
