Deputy Editor of Internal Medicine

DynaMed PlusTM has a rapidly growing international presence as the most current and useful evidence-based point-of-care clinical information resource available. It is a flagship product of EBSCO Health, a leading provider of clinical decision support solutions and medical research information for healthcare professionals worldwide. DynaMed’s mission is to provide the most useful information to healthcare professionals at the point-of-care.

DynaMed is seeking a Deputy Editor of Internal Medicine. The Deputy Editor will be the head of a general medicine publishing group, responsible for numerous primary care content areas. He/she will be a strategic leader who will lead topic creation, enhancement and maintenance efforts, as well as participate in quality initiatives and training/development of the editorial team.

The Deputy Editor will drive collaboration between his/her team of clinical and medical writers and editors, and other publishing groups. He/she will also recruit and retain a network of external physician editors and peer reviewers. Promoting product adoption and usage via sales support at conferences and site visits will be expected.

This is a full-time position based at the DynaMed headquarters in Ipswich, Massachusetts.

Required Qualifications:

  • Medical or clinical pharmacist degree (MD, DO or equivalent) with license/certification current and in good standing
  • Board certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine
  • > 10 years of direct patient care experience, and willingness to maintain ongoing clinical activities
  • Demonstrated understanding/use of principles of evidence-based medicine
  • Critical appraisal and statistical skills sufficient to analyze clinical relevance of all study types
  • > 2 years of experience in a leadership role


Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a breadth and depth of knowledge in the field as demonstrated by clinical leadership roles, teaching, research, and a publication track record. A demonstrated expertise in health information technology is strongly preferred.
