This position will be responsible for deploying our custom database products to EBSCO's live production environment using various scheduling and monitoring applications. Reporting to the Director of Database Production, this position calls for an experienced analyst/engineer who has a proven track record in application operation and management.  The ideal candidate should be a self-starter that can handle multiple priorities simultaneously.  Additionally, the candidate should display a pattern of continual learning and an ability to drive improvements to existing processes and tools. 


Primary Responsibilities 

·         Execute, monitor, and report on data-loading workflows to ensure reliable deployment of data updates from EBSCO’s Information Providers 

·         Ensure adherence to SLAs by continual monitoring and timely resolution of deployment blockages 

·         Document procedures for Data Integration Engineers and ensure compliance 

·         Collaborate with Agile development teams and product owners to develop high-quality solutions 

·         Participate in the design and development of infrastructure and tools for the team 

·         Automate current manual tasks to achieve efficiency and scalability 

·         Contribute to the continuous improvement of the team 

·         Act as a consultant to other departments in successfully implementing new products, processes and systems 


Required Qualifications 

·         3+ years of experience operating within a Unix/Linux and/or Windows environment 

·         2+ years of experience operating or administering software (scheduling and monitoring applications) 

·         1+ year of experience with scripting languages (e.g. Python)

·         2+ years of experience with T-SQL  and relational databases


Preferred Qualifications 

·         Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills 

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

·         Demonstrated ability to balance multiple tasks concurrently 

·         Ability to work well in a team environment 

·         1+ year of experience in Agile or Lean/Agile software development methodologies

·         1+ year of experience with Rally

·         1+ year of experience with Tableau or other data visualization software
