POSITION’S MISSION

The Data Integration Coordinator will support the Discovery Content Pipeline team’s mission to deliver EBSCO Discovery Service solutions that will meet or exceed our customers’ needs. The individual will work across Content Management and Product Management teams while also liasing vendor escalations, leading workflow and documentation improvements, triaging and analyzing customer service issues, reporting out team success metrics, and participating in data governance and quality improvement initiatives. Through positive realism, open collaboration, and lean thinking, the ideal candidate should lead through example while setting the bar high for the onshore and offshore teams and execute continuous improvement opportunities that will better meet the needs of the business. 

 

Primary Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the liaisn on behalf of the Data Integration Discovery team with external vendors and lead tier 1 support
  • Identify trends that impact ur workflows, work with team members to implement improvements, assist design & engineering teams with root cause analysis of identified problems, act as liaison between internal teams and customer
  • Triage incming customer-facing service issues and cases, analyze trends, and propose prevention plans month over month
  • Identify team success metrics, reprt out process against goals monthly, and work with team to propose solutions to improve success 
  • Facilitate the develpment of the Discovery team’s Sharepoint sites and work across the teams to align on a migration strategy, document management process, and execution plan
  • Participate in data gvernance discussions, work across teams to finalize and harden discovery data standards, and assist in quality auditing to help ensure the standards are met
  • Lead r participate other special projects or initiatives across Content Management as needed

Required:

  • 1 year experience wrking with Office 365 suite with emphasis on Excel, Word, Sharepoint, Yammer, Teams, etc.
  • 1 year experience facilitating meetings
  • 1 year experience with SAFe framewrk, basic understanding on lean principles, and experience with scrum and Kanban
  • 1 year experience  with Rally and Tableau a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written cmmunication

 

Preferred:

 

  • Knwledge or interest in learning SQL, Python, and Access
  • Presenting t a large audience
  • Gathering requirements and wrking across teams to gain consensus on an execution plan

 

 

 

Objectives to accomplish within 30 days:

  • Prpose a means to organize the Catalog team’s documentation, gain consensus across team, and begin to implement a solution within 30 days  
  • Shadw Catalog Specialist to learn end-to-end catalog workflows, identify 2+ opportunities for improvement, and share with team
  • Partner with Discvery Product Owner to monitor and triage daily escalations from offshore team, partner with onshore team to answer open questions within 24 hrs, analyze escalation metrics overtime, and build out an FAQ resource for offshore teams to reduce redundant questions.

 

Objectives to accomplish within 60 days:

  • Analyze the last 3-mnths of incoming EDS SIs, identify the top 3 trends, and propose 1 opportunity for improvement
  • Wrk with stakeholders to identify team success metrics and implement a means to measure them.

 

Objectives to accomplish within 90 days:

  • Once metrics are available, reprt out progress against goals monthly, and facilitate a team discussion to review results and propose solutions to improve success on a quarterly basis 
  • Prpose a means to organize the Pin Pals team’s documentation, gain consensus across team, and begin to implement a solution within 30 days 
  • Shadw EDS Specialist to learn end-to-end EDS workflows, identify 2+ opportunities for improvement, and share with team
  • Identify 3+ pportunities where we can better align EDS and Catalog team workflows, propose to stakeholders, and implement 1 opportunity within 90 days
