EBSCO Publishing (D/B/A ESBCO Information Services) seeks a Business Intelligence Software Engineer in Ipswich, MA.

 

Development of BI Solutions that adhere to technical and quality departmental standards. Ensure approaches follows a sound and repeatable process for software development that includes support for the safe framework, code reviews, automated testing, common practices and standards. Ensure technical solutions are scalable, maintainable, properly documented, and support the long-term goals and strategies of the business, product owners, leadership and the agile team. Work closely with product owners and lean leads to ensure there is a thorough understanding of the business need that is to be met by each user story and feature. Manage development tasks to ensure timely user story and feature deliverables. Ability to successfully scope and estimate efforts within the safe framework. Demonstrate and promote a culture of teamwork, humility, precision, and customer-driven excellence. Serve as a resource to support the live production process, customer issues, and for troubleshooting problems. Daily coordination of development activities within cross-functional team drive software quality by designing and building test automation frameworks, tools and tests. Drive improvements in our tool chain, automation, build, and release process. Collaborate with the scrum team and product owners to develop high-quality solutions. Author well-engineered solutions using test-first/test-driven methodologies. Contribute to the architecture and design decisions for our technical solutions. Participate in the design, selection and implementation of development and testing tools. Disseminate technical knowledge to fellow engineers. Contribute to the continuous improvement of the team. Contribute to the team's ability to make and deliver on their commitments.

 

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field plus 2 years' experience. Experience with SQL Server or comparable relational database. Experience with ASP.net (C#), Java or other object-oriented programming language development. Experience with SSIS, Talend, or similar ETL tools. Experience with SQL Server Development/SDET experience. Experience designing BI solutions and databases.
