Mission:

 

The Back-Office Systems Platform Leader plays a pivotal role in the creation, implementation and continuous development of a Back-Office Systems platform strategy that involves the transition from predominantly proprietary, legacy based systems and mainframes to an ERP Systems Solution. We are looking for a collaborative leader who enjoys working in a fast-paced, agile team environment, likes to be challenged and values the opportunity to make a difference.

 

A key member of the newly created Platform Leadership team, the Back-Office Systems Platform Leader will collaborate with Finance and Accounting operations across the enterprise, Customer Support, Sales, Content Licensing, Publisher Relations and Technology, to understand the current systems and business needs to develop and deploy an effective and efficient ERP strategy and solution(s) that support the organization in its strategy. Technically proficient in understanding of system architecture, EIS is looking for the consummate ERP professional that has the passion and drive to lead this effort from concept to implementation. 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

• Serves as the company’s capabilities and solution expert in Back-Office/ERP platforms and solutions 

• Builds an effective Platform Leadership Team, modeling Lean-Agile values that support the SAFe process across the organization 

• Collaborates with customers and key stakeholders across the organization to conduct customer and stakeholder discovery to define the Back-Office Systems Platform vision, strategy and the creation of an ERP roadmap, identifying key milestones and transition plan over the course of 36 months

• Works in close partnership with Technology teams and other partners to plan, prioritize, develop and deliver ERP capabilities and solutions from an architecture and systems perspective that meet business needs

• Works with Finance & Accounting and other key stakeholders in Sales, Customer Satisfaction, Content & Product Management to determine the kinds of functionality they need EIS to expose for back office operations and client facing systems

• Specifies requirements for current and future needs that support enterprise strategy 

• Develops in-depth knowledge of viable commercial ERP platforms and solutions, analyzing capabilities and cost/benefits and assessing strengths and weaknesses 

• Manages the entire product lifecycle from concept to end of life including strategic planning to tactical activities

• Accountable for planning, prioritizing and budgeting of deliverables

• Accountable for defining the delivery practices that provide high quality ERP solutions and result in high customer satisfaction (internal and external) 

• Drives a solution set across development teams 

• Develops and implement company-side go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute

• Creates general capability descriptions for the Back-Office Systems and the transition from current systems to an ERP systems solution

• Demonstrates knowledge of the technology stack to create new capabilities 

• Works with key stakeholders in the creation of Epics that reflect technical understanding of the Back-Office Systems capabilities and services

Required Qualifications:

 

• BA or BS in Business or related field, BSEng

• 8+ years product and technical management experience, implementing complex, cross-functional solutions.

• 2+ years’ experience working with and managing large Systems Integration

• 2+ years’ working experience in Agile methodology or SAFe

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

• Master’s degree in Business or related field

• 10+ years Management and Strategy experience in the areas of Knowledge and Asset management and Intellectual Property experience and operations and Library purchasing experience
