Content Integration Editor


The Content Integration Editor applies editorial and technical skills under moderate supervision to review and edit content submitted by internal and external writers to ensure that it meets the technical requirements and quality expectations for EBSCO Health Nursing & Allied Health products.  Prepares content for production (e.g., metadata tagging, working within content management system, publishing on product, quality assurance).  Develops skills to exercise independent judgment to evaluate proprietary content and determine its suitability for publication and commercial success.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Apply copy editing protocols according to style guides and product context to improve content quality before online publishing
  • Perform production steps before online publishing of product content
  • Research and complete content enhancement projects within established frameworks
  • Monitor product topics to correct stylistic and functional content problems across products on a regular basis
  • Identify and promote more efficient methods and workflows for specific editorial efforts
  • Communicate with product teams and managers as needed to resolve open issues
  • Attend training sessions covering editorial policies and procedures
  • Contribute to efforts to update documentation on editorial policies and procedure
  • Assist with other projects as assigned by supervisor


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or 4+ years of relevant work experience)
  • 1+ year of editorial experience
  • 2+ years of experience with MS Office Suite including Word (with use of track changes) and Excel


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated interest in copyediting, including line editing, fact checking, and proofreading
  • Knowledge of editorial style and processes, database management, and project management
  • High computer literacy skills and aptitude to learn editing/content management software and perform related skills (such as tagging and linking); experience in XML editing a plus
  • Project-focused to complete tasks under moderate supervision and report on completed assignments
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills
