EBSCO Health, part of EBSCO Information Services, is a leading provider of clinical decision support solutions, healthcare business intelligence, and medical research information for the healthcare industry.  

We are seeking a seasoned healthcare professional in the UK or Ireland to fill the role of Implementation Manager for our growing Professional Services team. The Implementation Manager provides critical services for clinical staff from healthcare organisations, principally in hospital or primary care, who have purchased one or more of EBSCO’s point of care tools, to ensure they derive the maximum benefit from their investment in those tools. 

The post offers a healthcare professional an excellent opportunity to apply skills to helping improve healthcare standards generally, working closely with other clinicians to make better use of the information available to them. It should also attract candidates with extensive experience of providing healthcare information support to clinicians focusing on evidence-based medicine. 

The ideal applicant will be visionary with the ability to execute and deliver results, have strong communication skills with individuals or groups including the ability to handle objections effectively, be familiar with the healthcare world with and clinical workflows, and be focused on helping users make the most of the tools at their disposal for improving patient care.

The EBSCO Health Professional Services Team (EHPS) works with clinical staff from healthcare organisations, principally in hospital or primary care, who have purchased one or more of EBSCO’s point of care tools, to ensure they derive the maximum benefit from their investment in those tools. 

The Implementation Manager will be a visionary with the ability to execute and deliver results, as well as being detailed-oriented, possessing a high comfort level with healthcare technology and clinical workflows, with strong communication skills, and above all focused on customer service.  This role is vital to ensure widening awareness and value of EBSCO Health products, with the aim of increasing their usage and ultimately the revenue they generate. 

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Act as EBSCO Health primary point of contact for clinical users. 
  • Work with clients to encourage take-up of the service by clinicians. 
  • Work with clinicians on-site in the clinical workplace or at events, such as conferences, to promote the service and help users learn to make the most effective use of it. 
  • Share ideas that emerge from contact with users and, where appropriate, help prepare presentation material that highlights them. 
  • Communicate product feedback to product management teams, monitor and escalate product issues when necessary. 
  • Periodically assist sales staff in demonstrating EBSCO Health products to prospective clients. 
  • Work closely with sales teams to ensure they are aware of activities, successes and challenges. 
  • Liaise with hospital IT teams to ensure access is correctly set up, including through hospital EPR systems

  • Strong leadership skills: ability to influence and motivate, visionary yet able to execute 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, specifically Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and basic use of Excel; familiarity with using Web-based services 


Minimum requirements include

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, preferably in Healthcare or IT related field. 
  • 3+ years of experience in healthcare delivery or management, or in supporting clinicians using healthcare information products.   
  • Experience working directly with doctors, nurses and allied healthcare providers in a clinical setting 
  • Experience supporting clinical users of healthcare information systems.  
  • Experience with and understanding of the workflow of healthcare in real primary or hospital environments 
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment 
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with all levels of employees from operational technicians to organizational Executives. 
  • Willingness to travel 60-80% of the time
