If this is you, then we have just the opening in the Continuations Unit at GOBI Library Services, which provides a highly-regarded, customized service for its academic customers. We are seeking someone with a proactive, Can-Do attitude; a willingness to look outside the box in doing what it takes, and the judgement to look inside the box for a method in the madness which maintains integrity in the marketplace.   

 

 The Bibliographer I position encompasses an array of publisher and customer facing duties involved in the fulfillment of continuation/standing orders in both digital and print format. It asks for excellent communication skills to make complex scenarios understood across varying levels of expertise in the company. And it seeks the organizational skills necessary to maintain accuracy and accountability for a fast-paced product line which is both expensive and non-returnable. The position is currently remote and will transition to partially onsite post-Covid at our Contoocook, NH facility.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Researching and building new serial records for books in series as requested by internal and external customers
  • Researching and maintaining existing serial records and providing/updating statuses
  • Researching and responding to customer queries about recent shipments, existing orders and claims for forthcoming volumes
  • Maintaining and processing bibliographic records for the auto-shipping of current volumes to customers against their continuation/standing orders
  • Responding to queries from internal customers and outside Sales with regards to the Continuations service

 

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma
  • 2+ years of experience in an office environment performing administrative tasks
  • 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams
  •  Ability to work remotely with sufficient internet access to enable use of VPN and multiple online systems/resources.

  • Excellent time-management skills with ability to proactively reassign priorities
  • Enjoys working within a team and across multiple teams and personalities
  • Highly attentive to detail with proven critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication to people of varying expertise  
  • Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years of equivalent experience in the book trade and/or library field
